Yeah, Garet Jax! He was so awesome!:D
And thanks Stenny! Nice to know that someone else like me liked them. I'm normally all for dragons and magic, but they looked like spy novels... After what you said I am not sure I can resist! Who doesn't love a good spy novel?:D

I agree with Sirkana about the whole Eragon thing. Being almost as scholarly as dear old Maerad, I re-read it and listed everything in the book that had featured in Tolkien's Legendarium. There was a fair amount, but it's still a nice read.
Never bothered with spy novels, myself. I tend to stick to Fantasy and Historical books.
Philippa Gregory's 'Tudor Court' novels are great, if you fancy a long book with small print and plenty of scandal. They kept me going during the wait for The Crow.

I nearly read Philippa Gregory's, but decided not to...they didn't seem that brilliant. But the film of the Other Boleyn Girl was good.
I also usually stick to fantasy/historical, with adventure and romance elements, but there are some exceptions - notably, Julie Bertagna, a brilliant author.
Her book Exodus, and its sequel Zenith, are set 100 years in the future, and focus on a girl trying desperately to escape the floods that threaten the world. Deeply emotional.
She has also written the Opposite of Chocolate, about a pregnant fourteen year old and a teenage arsonist and the choices they have to make - sounds bad but it isn't at all.
I think she's also written a book called the Spark Gap, and I have read one by her called Soundtrack - good but not as brilliant as the others.

Ooh, I never saw that movie. I've vowed not to see any more movies based on books that I like, after I realised that films aren't ever nearly as good as the books unless Peter Jackson is directing.

Usually, I can't resist, unfortunately, and I usually don't see films unless I've read the books, (hence, no LOTR - yes, I know) but with the Other Boleyn Girl I broke this rule.

WHAT?! *Explodes.* No LOTR? But they're amazing!:mad::(
I'm the kind of girl who plays electric guitar and has emo friends, but still has a shrine to Tolkien and Alison Croggon next to her computer.
