One o my favourite authors, Shannon Hale, really recommends them, and Ive almost never seen someone dislike them...so I really should read them! But are they available easily in the UK?
Not sure about that. You can always go online :)

OOO...I loved Noughts and Crosses, and I liked Knife Edge and Checkmate. But I read the first chapter of Double Cross in a bookshop a few weeks ago, and...I just wasn't interested. While the story was about Callum and Sephy, twas good. When it was just about Sephy, twas also good. When it was about Callie Rose, twas still quite good - but when it's about Toby, I just couldn't care less. Perhaps it's because I loved all the old characters, and wanted the focus to still be on them, and perhaps because I've never shipped CalliexToby (I always like CalliexLiam a lot more...not sure why), and perhaps because I got the feeling that Malorie Blackman's just extending the series past its natural span. But inside my mind, the series ended at Checkmate.
Inkdeath's pretty cool, it just really bugs me that, after a while, Meggie's no longer truly the main character. It's Mo. And I don't have a problem with Mo, but obviously I can't relate to him nearly as well as I can to a 13-year-old girl. I also have a major problem with who she ended up with.
DORIA!!! Nya, I hate him. He's such a Gary Stu! I knew that Meggie and Farid's relationship had to end, but for Farid to be replaced by DORIA??! It makes me so mad...
I would go online to find Crown Duel, but my mum's mean about books nowadays. I remember when I'd get 2 books a week, but now I get as many as I buy out of my own money (i.e about 1 per 6 weeks cos I don't have any money) plus about 3 a year and a few at Christmas. So Amazon isn't really an option. :(

ooh i love American Gods and yes i did reccomend The Name of The Wind. I love the book and Patman the author :P.
Brent Week's "Way of Shadows" was AWESOME. the plot was so fast paced it was crazy & i really began to love the characters. gonna go to waterstones ASAP and pick up the next two, which released a month apart from each other and a month after the first. which is shockingly brilliant publishing/writing in this day and age. Ive been waiting forever for that damn GRRM book...

I've just started a book called Winter Song by Jean-Claude Mourlevat. It's translated by Anthea Bell, which is always a plus in my book. I'm only a few chapters in, but so far it's really good!

There's an actual song called wintersong :D just putting it out there...
I've started hefting through a giant book of Irish fiction. It's actually... really... really... boring... and the book weighs a tonne.

xD Are you being forced to read it for class or something, or did you just pick it up randomly?! :D

i was just lazily browsing through the library, when suddenly this inordinately thick book caught my eye. I thought Irish fiction would be interesting... well, i suppose it's a matter of opinion, whether or not it would be enjoyed. if you've read "War and Peace" and didn't enjoy it, that's kinda how i felt

Right now I'm reading (or attempting to read) some books on hurricane Katrina and Chinese-American immigrants for research for a part I'm playing in a one act play. Can't seem to muster up the perserverence, though.
God, I am so unmotivated and lazy. It's disgusting. :P
