Yeah I know! It was just dumb. I felt like I was reading a book about a mentally retarded character. And I don't mean that in the slang way, as in a synonym for dumb-- I mean it in the way of a person with a mental disease.
I got used to it after a while, and the story got better, but I don't understand how this girl can be so innocent and sheltered yet still know what an orgasm is. :P

Is that the Percy Jackson series??? I love that series!!! Its so funny and good (and with greek mythology!)
The Last Olympian is the last book, right?:eek: I haven't got it yet!! (Curse you, evil people who put long holds on books!!!)

(Of course, if I am ranting about a completely different book, feel free to ignore me...)
I just finnished The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson, its the second in the Mistborn series. It was good, but I still feel the first book beat it by a lot...I am going to read the last book sometime soon
I just started Gardens of the Moon, I'm only about 30 pages in so I don't know how it is yet...

These days, "mentally retarded" is not considered an accpetable phrase, even in medical terms. It has too many negative connotations. "Mentally ill" or "with a mental condition" would be considered more acceptable, but do bear in mind that many people with mental illnesses are perfectly capable of understanding things that this girl clearly wouldn't. :)

Yeah...that seems very strange, almost disturbing. Maybe the author intended it, but still...

yes Criselle its Percy Jackson. I got it from the library. SO GOOD
Anyways..... JM.. its about this boy whos a demigod. his dad is Posiedon and his mom a mortal. hes 11 or 12 when he finds this out and monsters and demons are after him . its based on greek mythology.
The author Rick Riordan wrote it because hes an English teacher and was irritated that his kids knew nothiong about greek mythology. that is if i remember correctly.
They are making Lightning Theif (book 1) into a movie. the scheduled release date is sometime 2010 but no other information has been released at this time
