I've been reading Martina Cole when not Stephen King or Alison, it doesnt really relate to the others, all about women and prostitution, murder and other crime in the Londen underworld, tho I must admit I like Darren Shan and Philip Pullman a lot also.

I love "A tale of two cities", it's the best Dickens novel by far. I especially love the first paragraph...."It was the best of times, It was the worst of times, It was the age of wisdom..." I could go on ;)
I know, isn't it wonderful? That's one of my favourite beginnings to a book. The ending is also one of the endings I love best -- but that's also to do with having heard a piece of music from the finale of a musical.

:) hey bridie! the tree of avalon is very good its fantasy but i would recommend reading the lost years of merlin first. you can go to www.tabarron.com and find out some more of the books. it is only a summary about it its really not as good as alison web site but it will do. :)

I read LOTR in 2001 after i saw the movie and couldn't wait a year to find out what happened next, I made mum go out and buy the book the next day (the 3-in-1 version, over $50, which is around 100 pounds  ). I got it on a Saturday and finished by Thursday, i stayed up until about 3am most nights reading it... fun times :D
