I'm reading the final book in the Wolf Brother series right now, Maerad(",)! It's called Ghost Hunter. So far it's good; I really like this series, even though it's kind of cliched.
I already finished the third book: The Soul-Eater! :D
Anyways, Ghost Hunter? I thought that the series had only five books.. wolf brother, spirit walker, soul eater, outcast, and oath breaker. How many books are there in the series?
Pellinorfanatic: I agree!! and there's another: before, when I was writing poems, short stories, etc. I used to love the t-word in describing the time. But when that t-word came, I am forced to look in the thesaurus!

Too true :D
The ending in particular,
"Oh, would you look at that, the Count is dead and Mina, you're magically cured! Now you can go and be a dutiful wife!"
Though, I guess my opinion is skewed abit. Victor Kelleher (who is amazing) re-wrote the book from the point-of-view of a character he made up and it's soooo much better, especially the ending
It's called Into The Dark, (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/k/victor-kelleher/into-dark.htm).
For extra lulz I suggest watching Coppola's adaption, Keanu Reeves trying and failing to maintain an english accent is priceless!
"Beeeeeewdapesh!" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDdY6dh5
dJc) HA :D
Haha we watched that as a class and had a good giggle over it!
I'm glad you know what I'm talking about! haha

I loved the Amulet of Samarkand, but I didn't like the others much. I didn't like the character Nathaniel turned into. But Bartimus is entertaining.
As for Artemis Fowl... I'm seventeen and I still re-read those constantly. They're timeless, like Redwall and The Chronicles of Narnia.:p:D
On a more mature note, I'm reading American Gods... I think I mentioned here that I was reading Neverwhere, which is also by Neil Gaiman, and I loved it to death. Such a good book!
American Gods is for an... older audience. Not a page goes by without gratuitous use of swear words, and there's the occasional (read, not-so-occasional) sex scene. Straight and gay.
With that said, it's a great book if you don't mind all of that.:)

Yeah...I've read the first and second books, and Nathaniel really is turning into an arrogant, er, prat. Still, Bartimaeus and Kitty are great.

I absolutely loved Neverwhere, too; it's truly phenomenal. Next out of his books I'll probably read Stardust, but I guess I will read American Gods at some point too (although the plot sounds a bit strange from what I've heard of it, that's typical Gaiman, and it seems fascinating).
Anyone here read Neil Gaiman's short story anthologies or his Sandman graphic novels? Thoughts? I think he's an awesome author but I've never really got into short stories much less graphic novels, so I'm not sure about these.

Oop, there someone goes, mentioning the T-word.... hehehe.
I just finished The Magicians. Maybe you guys have heard of it? It's an NY Times bestseller, tho I've never seen anyone actually reading it.
Anyhoo, it was great. A realistic, gritty, and truthful look on magic and magicians as they would be in the real world. Highly recommended.

I'm surprised no one has suggested Crown Duel Court Duel by Sherwood Smith? Although I could have missed it...
Don't let the crummy cover throw you, it's one of my absolute favorite fantasy books... exactly number two under the Books of Pellinor. Read it and you will not regret it!
