I bought Garth Nix's Old Kingdom trilogy off amazon and really liked them but they didnt hook me as much as Trudi Canavans Books or Alison Croggon, I enjoyed them much more!
As for Philip Pullmans His Dark Materials - they are ace! The second two are better than the first, but I have noticed that happens quite a bit with trilogys- they start off slowly but then get great! Mind you I was hooked straigt away with The Gift, but then thats not in a trilogy is it?!

Has anyone else read Spirit Walker by Michelle Pavar yet? I just devoured it this morning in anticipation of her visit to my school. I'm going to bring my own copies of her books for signing. :D
(Now what would make life perfect is if Alison came...)

Never heard of it, although it sounds very good!
I read alot of both history books and fantasy books. For fantasy I like to reasd The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, The Lost Tales(all of these by JRR Tolkien)The Chronicles of Narnia, The Dark Elf Trilogy,The Icewind Dale Trilogy, The Sword of Shannara, Wicked, and alot more. History books are actually quite fun to read if you get a good author, like Robert K Massie or Antonia Fraser. Edvard Radzinsky is alright, although he can be rather dull at times, constantly repeating about the Romanov's murder in his book The Last Tsar or playing too much detective and not getting down to the facts in The Rasputin Files. I like classics also, like Les Miserables(still reading!)Dracula, Phantom of the Opera...
Does anyone here like myths? Like Greek myths, legends, etc? What about Odysseus' travels? I've read on his travels to return home, although I'd like to find and read The Iliad.

yeah the iliad is a lot more action packed than the Odyssey, if you like your books fast. Anyone here read anything from Laurie R King, like "the Beekeepers Apprentice"? I love those.....
His Dark Materials is AWESOME. I LOVE philip pullmans writing with a burning passion.....

I've been reading A LOT of horror books recently.
The Demonata series...uh thing...by Darren Shan,
The Intruders by E.E Richards,
The Devils Hand by D.B Carter
And, finally, the only non horror one: The Dragon Keeper, I can't remember who wrote it, I think it was Carole Wilkinson...
But they were all good too... :)
