Do you read more in summer or in winter? I came by this question today in the bus - I couldn't really concentrate on my book (which normally is no problem at all for me) because of the wonderful weather and the birds singing...

Either or, for me.
However, the past few years I have been finding myself reading a high-quality trilogy right around Christmas. Past few Christmases have been spent reading The original RiftWar trilogy, The Farseer by Hobb and Memory, Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams. All three nice Christmas presents to myself.

I read more in the winter. Once the weather warms up, I'm usually doing a lot of hiking/backpacking/camping and stuff, so don't get too much of a chance too.
I do generally read on over night excursions. Nothing like sitting by the lantern in the middle of the woods reading a good fantasy novel

Winter, on account of Christmas and my birthday supplying me with additional reading material.

I will read quite a bit this summer because I am not going to have the internet or television so I will not have any distractions after work. Usually, I read more in the summer because I have fewer distractions from school and required reading. Over the past few summers, I have read many books whereas during school, I am limited to only a few books a month. Except for over Spring break when I read 3 books in 3 days, but that was because I had back surgery and I had nothing else to do.

Summer for me, because it's when I have school holidays.

I think reading is something you can do in every season, warm or cold. But it is dark sooner in wintertime and with the weather and so you tend to stay more inside, which gives you plenty of time to read. Besides, what is more fun than reading before a crackling fireplace as a cold wind is howling curses at you outside?
Yet summertime has it's moments for reading too. I suppose it's a matter of opportunity and how many must-read books you have lying around.

Summer, mostly just because of the fact that that's when I have the longest holidays and I have more time on my hands to read etc.
