Has anyone ever gotten this?? Right now, no matter what book I pick up, I just don't feel like reading it.
I'll read about 50 - 100 pages, and then just set the book aside. I've done this with a few books recently, and I know they are good novels.
Any suggestions?

It's happened to me before. Last year I read a couple of clunkers around the same time. It's really frustrating b/c I HATE not finishing a book.
If I read a great book sometimes the next book I read right after that can be really a let down because of the high quality of the 'great' book.
Here's a suggestion, RE-read a book you've really enjoyed in the past, one of your favorites.

This to has happened to me and the slumps have lasted for a while, I never worry about it to much and am usually involved in something else. I have recently started reading anything I can get my hands on, fantasy novels included. I don't suggest forcing yourself to read, perhaps if you make it a habit to read the paper daily, that could set a pattern for you. I find that if you have a particular book you can get exited about. The anticipation of its release or just the thought of going out and getting it can help. Try reading about reading, browse the web on book topics or authors that interest you, I do this for research and also just to get hyped about a new book...hope some of this is helpful.

I'm in a bit of a slump myself, but its for a good reason. After finishing three outstanding books (Wizardborn, Dragons of a Lost Star and Sea of Silver Light), I can't seem to pull myself to read anything else for a while....nothing can grab my attention after three great reads.
I'll just relax for a bit and wait for that one lazy Saturday a few weeks off when I pull out a new one and get started again.

My Advice: Watch a heap of Television, I especially recomend Big brother or Boot camp. After watching about 5 hours of each you will be so sick of terrible entertainment aiming for the lowest common denominator that you'll sprint back to books. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I usually reread an old favorite in those times. It doesn't matter if I don't really pay attention then, or if I don't finish, but often it puts me back in the mood for something new.

This is nice to hear, I thought I was the only one who experiences this, and at first I thought it was because my attention span was simply dwindling. Anyway, I get these "slumps" from time to time and whenever I do, I get especially restless.
