Ive heard alot of bad things about these three books. As they're based on video games, im guessing thats why people say negative things about them. So my question is, should i just borrow them or are they good enough to buy?

I borrowed the rift war series, serpent war and the krondor series from a friend and since reading them have gone back and bought a few, esspecially Magican.
I think its ok to borrow as long as you keep up the friend ship cause you will probably want to read them again :)
