Finding used books on the internet

It seems that in a few recent posts, people have expressed difficulties in finding used books (especially internationally). I recently ran across a site that allows you to search thourgh several online used book databases. Many of these will ship internationally. I'm new here so if everyone already knows of this site, sorry.
http://scifan.com/writers/

*The above site actually lists most fantasy/sci fi writers entire collection and you can even search by series name. It then gives you the option to purchase through several used book databases.

I would also include:
http://www.half.com/

These sites are all secure in that you can contact the actual seller or (I recommend) using your credit card online. The credit card actually goes to the book database company (i.e. abe.com, half.com), the company then pays the seller.

Hope this helps,

PJ

Thanks PJ, I had not come across these two sites yet...I have been searching for a way to buy -affordably- the MIllenium edition of several series. I'm really hooked on their editions. I did find some used and may just give it a go...

I didn't really have problems finding used books on the net.
My problem is that i don't feel comfortable giving a credit card number to unknown small stores that even if they are reliable who knows how secure they are.
It's something else than giving the number to a big online store like www.amazon.com. (http://www.amazon.com.)

Fitzchivalry,

Actually, its not a problem for half.com. They are a part of ebay and use a brokerage firm known as paypal.com. The seller sets up an account with half.com. The seller never gets your credit card number. You pay the brokerage firm and they pay the seller. The other ones I mentioned have similar things available; or they give you the email of the seller and you can send them a money order.

I can second PJ comments, all the seller sees is the details of your order, and the delivery address... and that the items have been paid for... they do NOT get to see your financial details.

Quite a few credit card companies have started to use this system now for online shopping, and if a site supports it, it will tell you.

I was very wary at first, but since this system came into effect I have no worries about online shopping, a fact that has my wife threatening to stick my visa card up my a$$.
