Signed Copies of Red Seas Under Red Skies

I bought a copy from Waterstones and noticed a signature on the front page that looked like it was in blue ball point pen. I was wondering if this was some sort of design in every book or if a select few were signed or if maybe Scott had actualy been in the store and quietly signed a few or something (does he post here?).
Anyway just being curious.

I guess it's possible, Ronso. There are signed UK editions about, and Scott has been signing some in London. Depends where your Waterstones is! Normally though Waterstones will stick a big sticker on it, saying 'Signed by the author.' But you never know.....

Well this shop is pretty out of the way.
I mean it isn't in a big city or anything.
Here are some pics:

UPDATE: Having spoken to the good people at Gollancz, it seems that Scott signed some title pages which were then bound into the books and sold who knows where. Sort've like an added extra. This therefore could be one.

I think that's a really nice idea myself. Must be a lovely surprise for someone who wasn't expecting it (bit like yourself, ronso!?)

Now all you've got to do is read the book. :) You're in for a treat, I think: hope you enjoy it.

but on the other hand...some not so interested people might get the book and think nothing of it - and there goes an authograph well spent...
