If anyone here has read 'Swan Song' by McCammon, would you be willing to answer a couple of questions for me?

There was one scene early in the book I didn't get. I asked the question on the General Fiction forum, but didn't get an answer.

Ha! I read that waaaaaaaaaaay back in the early 90s. I remember liking it, but I'd be hard-pressed to remember plot details now. I should reread it.

I read and loved the book when I read it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in high school. McCammon was pumping out a lot of good books around that time.

I saw the question in GF and it didn't ring a bell. As I intimated, it has been more than 15 years since I read the book.
