Played them a long time ago, they were very similar to steve jackson's stuff, but I don't remember a lot. they weren't bad, I guess.
Those days when you read a book with dice and a pencil, with frustration at every corner... (oh, now I need to start all over again? what if i'll cheat?)

I was a chronic cheater at the Steve Jackson books.
"7...Damn I died. Oh well, it was a stupid fight anyway. Let's pretend that Orc wasn't there..."
"Test against my luck. Why??"

And I thought I was the only one who did that... Somehow I didn't cheat at the Lone Wolf books, though, and I liked them better than the Fighting Fantasy stuff.

Well, despite what I said above, I didn't cheat either. I guess I felt it will be meaningless if I'll cheat, so normally every reading session would end with me throwing the book at the nearest wall...
A paradox: if those books were good, then they were tough, and you would get frustrated trying to finish them.
I they were bad, you would finish them quickly, but it wasn't fun, because they were too easy to begin with!

Lior, i feel that way with every computer game too, very few games get the difficulty level just right, so it doesn't seem too easy and it isn't too frustrating.
I didn't cheat in the first 7 Steve Jackson books i played... but when i got older and lost my patience i cheated like there is no tomorrow, then i started playing D&D and forgot about it.

That's right, Fighting Fantasy was actually a way to play D&D when you were alone...
Which isn't as much fun!
