For those of you who doubt that Harriet Klausner (the number 1 Amazon.com reviewer) can read and review all those books in so short a span of time, Tobias S. Buckell may have caught her cheating. Find out more here (http://fantasyhotlist.blogspot.com/2007/08/harriet-klausner-anyone.html).

Quite interesting. . .;)

Jeff Vandermeer's comment is the second I've read recently from an author who said Harriett got an essential fact wrong. Apparently she mentions a rape in Veniss Underground -- there's no rape. Something like that could influence a potential reader.

The other was from Tom Piccirilli -- Harriett's review of The Midnight Road has a character crashing through ice in a lake -- should have been a river (or vice versa, I can't remember). Minor nitpick, but still . . .

I look at Harriett as one of those people who has to be best or first at something that nobody else cares about. Because really, who cares how many books she reviews?

But I'm a bit jealous of her. Can you imagine the free books she gets?

Did we really have to go through 2 other sites to get the story referred to?

Sounds like OCD, amusing, but i never read her reviews anyway.

Well, if she makes a habit of doing this sort of thing, then maybe Amazon should take action.

But the only reviews I pay attention to are from friends, family, the occasional teacher and everyday, normal readers from sffworld.

Honestly, is Harriet Klausner still even relevant? I thought she had lost her credibility ages ago...

I never thought she had credibility.

I've seen a couple of people say, "I am not touching a book that's only got her review." Which is silly since she reviews almost every book in existence.

But I'm afraid it makes her relevant. People both fall for it and get turned off by it. When it should be ignored as if it's not even there.

Oh, I found when I glanced at her a while ago she liked pretty much anything she read, which is how you usually get people to say you're helpful. I usually only review books I find need a good thrashing, so of course all the fans find me useless :p

You forget that most people aren't into the online "books scene" like you are, they just come to order some book on amazon becasue they need a gift or they need something to read on vacation or whatever, they don't know her like you internet people, she is still relevant to a big group of people.
