Hey everyone. I joined a while back but got lost in the fray of the real world and job responsibilities. I am looking forward to hopefully becoming a regular member of this community. For a little background on this idea I have to talk about another forum which I am a moderator at. It is a carnivorous plant forum and there is a designated forum for "grow lists" which basically just keep a list of all the plants that the members grow and they update as they purchase, trade, or give away plants. Has anyone ever suggested having a similar thing around here like a "books read list" where you could list the SF and F books you have read and maybe some details, like when you read it.
Just wondering if this was ever considered. I know it's not as practical of an idea as say, a "growlist," but an idea at least.

Welcome Xvart.
Yes, the idea of a 'books I have read' list is used quite a bit. If you look through the Forum sections you will find threads like THIS (http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15424)which looks at new release books read in 2007. Each month the 'Reading in...' threads looks at what people have read that month; there are threads that look at books bought, and threads that look at what's on the 'to be read pile'.
What you seem to be suggesting is a What is being read thread for individual members? Ours tend to be ones that are joined in by everyone in the community. I suppose THIS (http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16790) might be an exception, but even then the members join in.
We have thought about it, I guess, but for some of us such a thread would be far too long!
What do others think?

Thanks for the links to those other threads. It seems that idea is not a priority for some members. Glad the idea has at least been tossed around.
