Hi Everyone

I am looking for books that are like Terry Goodkind Sword of Truth series in regard to having characters like Richard and Kahlan.

pulled this from the sticked recommendation thread (see top of fantasy forum):
http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7324

a lot of good recommendations for 'epic fantasy' there.

Hmm, do you mean like Goodkind as in they are crap or like Goodkind in that they are epic?

READ eragon the I'm afraid it has no raping in it. but the characters are flat and its highly deriritive.

So in that sense just like Goodkind

What i mean is that there is a strong bond (love) between the two main characters.

Pick up a book, any book it doesn't matter. I'd say you have at least a 50/50 chance of finding a strong bond between two main characters.

Ya- you might as well check out Wuthering Heights, Anna Karenina (well, more strong bond between major characters, as the two main characters only meet once) and about hundreds of thousands of other books, unless you want to be more specific.

Guys, I am surprised nytrokiss even stuck his/her head in here a second time. Maybe you all can be a bit nicer to a new member even if s/he has not the same taste as you?

And nytrokiss: welcome to sffworld.
Second thing, Brahm_K is right. It would be better if you are a bit more specific about what exactly it is you are looking for. What is it beyond the strong bond between the two main characters that you are looking for in another book? What details are you looking for? How do you define the strong bond (beyond that it's a love bond)?

And then you might find some recommendations looking in the Mother of all Recommendation Threads (http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8580) - as cougs already mentioned. But this can never be said often enough. ;)

So for now I leave this thread open - in hope it is not developing further into a Goodkind trashing . . .

if you're looking for some fat epic books with lots of battles, powerful magicians, mythological creatures, earth shattering cataclysms you should try "Crown of Stars" by Kate Elliott. It has not one but at least two star truck couples that struggle against destiny, geography and even time to get back together. I'm not giving you names as i don't want to put spoilers. It even has 2 or three characters that abuse women, but i hope that's not what you're looking for.

The main difference to Goodkind is that this series is a lot better written and the characters less predictable and less two-dimensional.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I have read both the Crown of Stars and Robert Newcomb's books (i have also finished the SOT Series!) Can anyone recommend any other books!

P.S I have read the Melanie Rawn Dragon Prince Series! This can be included in what i like!

P.S.S Yes i am looking for a Love Bond

Thanks

James
