Could someone please tell me what happens in the last 2 books of the trilogy because my library only has the first book in stock. a couple of sentences would do me, if you can. Thank you!

Well, i'll try although it's been a while.
I'd suggest you won't read this and wait until you get the books someday though...

People, the series is called The Hed Trilogy by Patricia McKillip, don't read this spoiler unless you really must, get the books, they are a great read.

**********SPOILER ALERT***************

Basically, Morgon is going to find the High One and disappears, then his fiance is going after him, book 2 is her adventures (wonderfull read).
In book 3 Morgon finds out that the High One is actually Deth.. The High One's harpist that was with him all this time while he was looking for him. He also finds out that the High One is from the same race as those bad guys from the sea, he drove them out of the continent once and now they are back...
The 3rd revelation is that the time of the present High One is over, and he Morgon is the next one (3 stars on his face indicated that). There are some battles of course against various bad guys and such.
Well, that's what i remember, hope it was helpfull.

Here in the US, I think ACE books just published an omnibus of the trilogy.

Yes, they did. It is a very nice edition. I need to read it, but have only gotten through the first 3 chapters. I wish I could control my reading habits so that I did not have 4-5 books going all at once. It makes keeping track of the plots a challenge in my life.

Here's a thread I've dredged up from the deep past since I haven't seen toom much said about these books.

What do you guys think of this trilogy? I'm in the midst of reading The Riddle of Stars . McKillip's writing reminds me of Leguin's Earthsea writin, which makes me happy since I love those books.

i still have the trilogy on the shelf, and will begin reading it.

already began reading, but much other reading made me put it down for a while.

i think here we have a good example of wonderful, completely underrated fantasy! such a colourful writing. of course it is also a difficult read, the language isnīt easy that makes you turn pages quickly. slow reading is needed here.

what are the other novels by McKillip?

I re-read that series just recently after a twenty year lapse, and I still love it. One of my favorite series of all time. Can't wait to pass that one on to my kids.
