Diana gone ten years already

Hardly celebrity-struck, and American to boot, but what a shame Lady Diana went so early.

Yes it is. She hasn't dated at all. All very sad, especially for her sons.

Indeed it is.

However, I do hope the media will finally let her rest in peace. I don't want to see another book about her private life by a former staff member or lover who's just out to make money out of people's feelings for her.

I know, it's hard to believe it's been ten years already. From what I've seen and read of her, Princess Diana was one of the kindest, sweetest people that ever walked this earth. She would go out of her way to say hello to just a common person. She will always be sorely missed. :(

Meh. Props to her for doing well in that role, but I'm pretty well over the monarchy in this day and age. There shouldn't be anything but common people nowadays if you ask me. It is too bad, and it would be too bad in the case of anyone, that she had to go under such shady circumstances. Dodi al-Fayed (sp?)'s father was on Howard Stern last year, wow what an interesting and intense personality he was.

You know what was trippy? At the end of the 6th Dark Tower book, when they went over all the list of the great and celebrated people who have died since the 60's. Just to be hammered relentlessly by it like that was kind of stunning.

It's kinda strange to me that she is still a worldwide news. She shouldn't be interesting for anyone outside UK  It was the same to watch the Pope's death on all channels in an Orthodox country all day. Media just don't know when to stop.

A surprising amount of people who live in countries without a royal family are interested in those that do, especially the British royals. It's a part of our celebrity culture.

Well, there is such a thing as a Commonwealth. :)

I've never been a royalist, but even I remember where I was exactly at the time she died. What a furore it created! I don't feel personally touched by her loss, but it was a loss to Commonwealth society.

I think it might be that she seemed real on a human level. She smiled, she laughed, she got hurt, she cared for her sons, etc.

Seemed more than just a celeb.

Same with my man, Steve Irwin.

There. Those are the only two that have really struck a chord with me in quite some time.
