Well, I've been reading Grand Design for a bit now, and I'm about 400 pages into this massive book.. And, I have to say, this is simply a amazing book! I love it.. when I first started reading it, it was good... nothing special.. but, with each page it got better and better.
I was pretty hesitant about Eyes of God, but, if the writing style is close to this one.. Well, let's just say John Marco is soon becoming a author who is "Buy on sight" list..

Keyoke, Tyrants and Kings just gets better with book #3, Saints of the Sword.
EoG is a superb book as well, but people are probably sick of seeing me go on about John Marco's work. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif

I am just really impressed with this book. I expected it to be good, not superb..
I love it when I read a book, and it enthralls me to a point where I am worried that I only have 300 pages left, and one more book. Heck, part of me doesnt want to read Book #3, and save it for a rainy day..
Think the last time I was susprised by a book was Carol Berg's Revelation book..
Dam fine book. If anyone out their is looking to read something, pick this series up now..

Hey, I just finished Berg's first one, Transformation last week and thought it was very good. Like you said, I expected it to be good, but it was better than I expected. Is Restoration as good?

I picked up Jackal of Nar and I'm now about 200 pages into it. Great stuff sofar. Good, solid military history. Characterization is ok, but it's impossible to judge what way it will go at this point. I like the rivalry between the Gayles and the Aramoors, and this Tharn is building up to be quite a powerhouse.
Sofar a very worthwhile read. I can see why FF has been raving about it here for years, though it's not quite up to the standards of a Tolkien, Martin, Hobb or Kay. But then that's the true major league. I'd compare my enjoment factor of this book, even thoug it's radically different, to Sean Russell's good effort, The One Kingdom.

Mithf: Glad you're enjoying the book. I've said this before about Marco, he GETS BETTER with each book, IMHO.

I taught Tyrants and Kings was a magnificient series, I really liked Vantran and Lucyler. But I think the best character in the serie is Biagio. I think he's superbly written. My thanks FF, it's because of u that i picked up those books.

I enjoyed the Tyrants and Kings series but found The Eyes of God a real let down. I had to struggle to finish it. The story started off well then just went downhill. I found it cliched and dull. Just my opinion though. :)
