Are the Dragonlance "in-between" books lame?

I've heard that the "Dragonlance Chronicles Trilogy", the "Dragonlance Legends Trilogy", and the "Dragonlanlance War of Souls Trilogy"
(which is yet to be completed by one more installment by the way) are pretty awesome and impressive fantasy novels. However, I have also heard that not many people care for the Dragonlance "lesser known" novels that take place in between or even before the "Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends Trilogies" and the "Dragonlance War of Souls Trilogy" and some people even say that the
"in-between" books are kind of lame. Does anyone here share that opinion or feeling about the in-between novels, becuase I would like to know if they are worth buying and reading as much as the Chronicles, Legends, and War of Souls Trilogies.

I collect both Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms books, and they are okay. Just don't expect deep and meaningfull plots, they are just light reading in my opinion and not to be taken too seriously.

I wouldn't bother with them. They're generally pretty poor. Uninspired and dull stories with the Dragonlance logo slapped on them. The main problem is the writers are generally using pre existing characters and worlds and constrained by it. Either it limits the story greatly or it means they shot themselves in the foot when they chnage things to fit the story. They're generally readable, but with so much other great stuff out there worth reading it seems a waste of time reading such generic stuff.

Stay away from Dragonlance books not by Weis & Hickman and you'll be safe.

Just stick with the Chronicles and Legends trilogies, all the other dragonlance are not worth the paper they are printed on.

I agree with cannon fodder and don't have a lot to add on that,I'll just say that Dragonlance books were essentially my first fantasy reads (except Tolkien)and I read quite a few in the series.
non of them even came close to the chronicles.

Hey people, i'm back!

Actually, I kind of liked 2 or 3 books in the Tales Series: The Legend of Huma, Weasel's Luck and Galen Beknighted. The rest is crap.

Okay, thanks for your help guys. I really appreciate it! I think I'll just stick with the Dragonlance novels written by Weiss & Hickman, as was suggested here.
