Well,we discussed so many authors, but we forgot the artists.Who is the best?
IMHO-Keith Parkinson.He is great.
I also like Darrel K. Sweet,Brothers Hildebrandt,Tedd Nasmith,Paul Kidbey.
I don't like Josh Kirbey and Boris Valeho.

Can't say who's the best, but certainly two are on the top of my list: Luis Royo and Larry Elmore.

Whelan is good. I liked the art of a Danish artist called Inger Edelfeldt when she did one of the Tolkien calendars. I quite like Alan Lee. Don't like Darryl Sweet at all--his colours are gaudy, his people malformed looking (and all, as I have mentioned before, have reddish side parted hair and big red noses!)

I'll have to say Larry Elmore is my favourite, his paintings are breathtaking. whenever I see an Elmore drawing on a book, I have an uncontrolable urge to buy it.
And I have yet to see anyone that can rival his dragons, IMHO, he is the best dragons artist out there.

I think the best fantasy artistis Michael Whelan. The other fantasy artist that is just as good, or perhaps even better,IMO, is Matthew Stawicki.

I don't really know many fantasy artists but for the past few years, I've been buying Miles Pinkney calendars. Great piccies!! Has anyone heard of him?? Couldn't find any of them for this year though http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif so I had to settle for a FarSide one.
