Guys, I just wanted to say that now I see that I was truly wrong in my first opinions about Blind Guardian!! I just downloaded an MP# of that group's song "Nightfall" and I must say, THAT GROUP ROCKS!!! Compared to them, I think all the other fantasy rock groups fall a little short. This group to me, represents through their music, the mood of fantasy at its best! I liked this group so much that I ordered their hit album "Nightfall in Middle Earth"

See... we told you... now go and find some Rush to listen to, or maybe some music by the band Yes...

... also, listen to 'November Rain' from Guns'n'Roses, you will see that rock can be really symphonic.

Well, as long as we are on the subject of music here and I know Metal was kind of out of the question.

Anyway, I just wanted to suggest that you check out Defender by Manowar that I think you'd like even though you're not into this type of music...

I'll suggest once again: "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" by Blue Oyster Cult is a truly beautiful song, a lament for Elric written by Moorcock himself. It is one of a trilogy of Elric songs by Blue Oyster Cult and Moorcock, the others being "Black Blade" and "The Great Sun Jester" which I haven't heard.

Defender is indeed a great song, go check it out, it will blow your mind.

You're the defender
FIGHT PROUD, MY SON
You're the defender, god has sent
God has sent**guitar riff**

Dag, I never would have suspected you as a ManOWar fan.

Alot of Manowar's stuff is fantasy themed. At one point the drummer held the Guiness (not the Beer) world record for fastest drummer.

I want to suggest listening to some Less Than Jake. Also, listen to some songs by Ann Beretta.

ManOwaR still holds the guiness world record for loudest concert ever.
They broke their own record some years ago in that.

Brothers i am calling from the valley of the kings, with nothing to atone.
A dark march lies ahead, together we will ride like thunder from the sky.
May your sword stay wet like a young girl in her prime, hold your hammers high!

ManOwaR rule.

Yes, FitzFlagg, no reason denying it I guess, I'm a Metal head in disguise.

Then again if I had to name two of my all time favourite groups/artists it would be Metallica and Jewel. Figure that one out http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Metallica NICE
Jewel NICE to look at.

From The Warrior's Prayer (CR) ManOwar
"Grandfather tell me a story"
"Oh All right, go and fetch your storybook"
"No No not one of those, a real story"
A real story?"
"Yes, tell me about when YOU were a boy"
"Well Then
I Shall have to take you back a Long way in Time...
