Fantasy Corroboration's

R.E. Feist is now completing a trilogy of corroboration's with a variety of authors, and it got me thinking about who I would like to see corroborating. I think Feist and Jordan would be an absolutely amazing combination for several reasons:

1) They are both brilliant world and character builders, and a corroboration will only make that stronger.

2) Jordan can add the depth and detail (especially the length) to Feist as he has been lacking that recently.

3) Feist knows how to keep a story moving and would stop Jordan getting bogged down with his descriptions of the next door neighbours dog etc.

4) They would both benifit from the others perspectives, as they have both been stuck in one perticular for a VERY long time.

5) Finally they are my two favourite authors.

Do you agree? What other corroboration's would you like to see? At present I have to admitt that my favourite so far is Feist and Wurts, but well'll have to wait and see what the next ones are like.

I don't think it would ever happen. Both Feist and Jordan are entirely wrapped in their own worlds at the moment. Besides... can you say 'ego-clash'?

Oh, and I think the word you're looking for is 'collaboration'.

As for what I'd like to see... Gabe Chouinard and Matthew Woodring Stover.

uuuurk! I didn't say that out loud, did I?

Not only can I imagine the ego-clash, but can you imagine:

a) the weight of such a tome, should it be a single novel; or
b) the fact that it would be published in about 15 novels/parts of a series.... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Feist: Right that's it, done... whew!... good work there Robert.

Jordan: What do you mean... done?

Feist: That's it, the end of the trilogy. Closure(sp?)... Time for me to go onto my next project...

Jordan: But there is a least another 20 books in there yet!!!!

Sorry... I could just not resist http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

As if Jordan would ever actually specify a number of books in a series http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif (just having some fun)

It would be an very interesting combination. Here's an oddball pairing...donaldson and brooks http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

I think John Marco and Tad Williams could make an interesting collaboration. Tad as one of the most accomplished fantasy writers and John as one of the new voices in fantasy.

What will it be called? "Eddings Readers Die"??

Feist: That's it, the end of the trilogy. Closure(sp?)... Time for me to go onto my next project...

The next project being, the story of the children and grandchildren of the currmet characters, and how they save the world in a similar way to their ancestors.

hehehe... I see your point Shehzad... but these would be an entirely new set of books, with a beginning and an end after about 3 or 4 books.

Jordan is telling us the same tale after 9 huge bloody great thick rambling books... but I still gotta know what happens http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I can't even begin to imagine an RJ/Feist pairing *lol* It would certainly be different. The only Feist books I like are the Empire books, thanks to Janny's influence. Of course, the only Janny books I like are Empire, thanks to Feist's influence.

So who would I really like to see collaborate on a book or series? That's a tough one.

Robin Hobb because she builds a great world and tells a great story with Rebecca Bradley b/c she creates great characters. I can't even imagine the product of their combined labors. I suppose not a lot of you have read Rebecca Bradley though. She only has three books out.

Well, I'd tell you what it'd be called, but that would sort of kill the suspense, wouldn't it?

No, just kidding. Matt and I have talked about it a few times, so maybe one day it will happen. But don't hold your breath.

Hey, Fitz, good thinking. But neither would collaborate, I don't think. Though John was just talking about how he got Tad to blurb his new novel, which was cool...
