I read a book ages ago- like 1988 or so. I have been thinking about it constantly but for the life of me I can't remember the title or the author. GRRRR..... The story was about a woman who was a thief. I think I remember that she crash landed her ship(?)on her way to her next job. I remember she had very short spiky almost white blonde hair. I can't remember her name but I want to say it was jynx or something like that. I think there were two or three books about this character.
Do any of you have any ideas??? I am at a total loss here.

Could it be Jo Clayton's Skeen trilogy ? There are 3 novels : Skeen's Leap, Skeen's Return and Skeen's Search. These were written between 1986-1988 and the main character Skeen is a blond thief with spiky hair who is stranded on a strange planet with shape-shifters etc...

You know, that could be it!! The cover art looks like what I remember. Wow, I have been puzzling on this for months! I'm not even sure why, I don't remember much about the books or even if I really liked them or not.
But I think I might try to pick them up again to see.
Thank You!

I read them only a couple of years ago and really enjoyed them. They have a kind of old style pulp feeling about them. Later I found out Clayton intended this series a an hommage to Leigh Brackett and the old Planet Stories style of science fantasy. So if you're looking for an old style adventure story with some modern twists you could do a lot worse than this series.
