Ok i only recently found this message board so i dont know if this question was asked before but even if it hasnt i think it would be kewl to discuss your favorite fantasy character . doesnt need to be the main hero or the main villian i mean 2 of my favorite character came from a book whose name escapes me at the moment but they were these two drunks named bodger and grift whose only purpose was to add comic relief/current events ( well at least till the last book in the series when they got active ) . my other favorite fantasy character was flint fireforge cause well 1) he was grumpy and a great straight guy for tas to work with
2)he at least died of something normal . i think that was the first time i saw someone die in a fantasy novel of something non fantastical ( like being eaten by a dragon or turned to stone )

Well-Allanon.I like him because he is good, but not a nice guy, because he has very cool magic and, finally,he is not a stupid immortal superman[jachyra killed him].
I also like Raistlin from DL Books and Bilbo Baggins.

I think this topic has appeared a while ago. My favorite character hasn't changed, it's still Tyrion Lannister. Why? Too many reasons to list here, but those who have read ASoIaF by GRRM would probably agree that he is a facinating personality.

Elric, the first antihero and then Thomas Covenant. I like the way they have to deal so much with their nature and their situations, which conflist so much.

Along the Same lines, Tyrion Lannister and Jon Stone.

Yeh... Bodger and Griff are from The Book of Words by JVJ. Really funny, you can find some of their wisdom on her website www.jvj.com (http://www.jvj.com).

What Elric do you refer to? And if it's something like the Illiad, I'll feel silly.

Elric is the work of Michael Moorcock. I have only read Elric of Melnibone, which is an omnibus edition of the first 4 or 5 books of the Elric story. He is very hard to explain, so give this a look at...

Crysania - if you like anti heroes you'll LOVE Elric! He was one of the first chracters to emphasise that heroes are not always good, and that for every good deed there is a price.

Try him!

I don't think it gets much more anti than Elric when it comes to heroes...

Elric is an albino and a weakling, and he is depended on his sword Stormbringer for life.
The sword feeds the souls of those it kills to Elric and it sustains his body that would have been very fragile otherwise, and so Elric gets addicted to his sword and to killing. And oh, he kills and he kills and he kills and he goes on killing.
Actually the whole series is one big messacre.
Of course, the books are about a lot more than just this and they are only one part of The Eternal Champion Series, but more than that will be spoiling.
