First off, welcome. :)

Well she has three more trilogies, and several books written under her the pseudonym Megan Lindholm. You can find out the names of those in the Bibliography at the top of this forum.

As to 'what next':

The next trilogy is the Liveship Traders. This is set in the same world, but has different locales and characters to the Farseer Trilogy (although there is an important character tie-in though).

The one after that is the Tawny Man trilogy. This picks up Fitz's story again, 15 years later.

It might be tempting to rush out and read that first, but my advice, and I suspect that of many others, is to read them in order - because of the aforementioned character tie-in, and plot set-ups for the Tawny Man.

Her latest trilogy, the Soldier Son, is set on a different world entirely.

I agree, just read them in order. I'm about halfway throught the 1st book of the Tawny Man Trilogy, and I'm really glad I read Liveship Traders. It isn't essential, but you would clearly miss out on a lot of the finer details of the book so far. I personally liked LT better than Farseer. I thought that Assasin's Quest wasn't quite as good as it could be. The final book of LT was my favorite of the series. I thought that the trilogy really came together well, and wrapped all the story-lines up nicely. Seriously, it's one of the most satisfying multi-POV, epic fantasies that I've read.

That said, Fool's Errand is pretty awesome so far.

u should skip liveships (it barely has next to nothing to do with the main story and no fitz!) and go straight to the tawny man series which takes place 15 years after AQ. seriously u really dont miss anything from liveships, i highly recommed going straight to tawny man. keep the momentum going, fitz is too much of a great character.

Hey there Beefcake! Welcome to SFFWORLD.:)

I have to strongly disagree with kauldron. Liveships might not have Fitz in it but it has strong characters, a fantastic plot and its well.. a ripping good yarn! :p I also feel that its somewhat essential to Tawny Man as quite a few characters are introduced who are part of the events in Liveship Traders and if you read these three superb books before TM you can get abit of a back story. Plus when they are introduced you can go "ahh thats my girl! good ol' whatsherface. She was fun to read. I'm glad Hobb brought her back!" of course instead of whatsherface youd put the name of the character... but if i did that id be spoiling the surprise for you.

So yes... Read Liveship Traders straight after Assasin's Quest. Afterall that is the order Hobb herself wished them to be read in isnt it?:)

Read them in order. Liveships next, then Tawny Man.

if the reading order was truly absolute, there would not be the same countless questions over and over by new fans wondering if they should read liveships before tawny man. no one wonders if goblet of fire had to be read. saying that liveships is absolute is like saying you need to read the simarillion or the hobbit, before you begin LOTR. i might be in the minority but im sticking to my guns. you miss nothing by going straight to tawny man after AQ. the importance of issues and characters in liveships come down to about 1 or 2 pages in the entire tawny man trilogy.

but to each his own.

when you are done with all of her trilogies, pick up Shaman's Crossing. A lot of people didn't really like it that much, but I really enjoyed it. It is nothing like any of her other books really, and I found it very fasinating. Robin Hobb is an excellent author and I'm really glad you liked the Farseer Trilogy.
