O.k, pick two series which have been the most complex, e.g with the most puzzles as you read them. Ones where there is so much stuff going on that you can miss quite a few things. Ones wher you can spend hours trying to work out puzzles after reading each book before reading the next.

My most complex are:
1. A Song of Ice and Fire by GRRM
2. A Tale of the Malazan book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson

and pick two of the most emotional series. A Series which really plays with your emotions, sad, happynes, pain, joy, grief, cheering etc etc.

My most emotional series are:
1. A Song of Ice and Fire by GRRM
2. the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb

well, I would say the most complex are
1) Amber series by Roger Zelazny
2) Nights in the Lonesome October by Zelazny as well.

It's a bit harder with the emotional... Too much stuff to pick from, but i would say
1)Maria Semenova's Volkodav
2)MST series by Tad Williams

I need to think about the most complex, but I agree SoIaF is one to put in this category...

The most emotioanl book I ever read was Skallagrig, by William Horwood... I actually shed tears when I read this book.

The most complex series is The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe. Critics will still be analysing its levels of meaning for years to come.

The most emotional is the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb.

Of course these are two of my favourites

The Wheel of Time - Robert Jordan
A Song of Ice and Fire - Georoge R.R. Martin

recently most emotional.. ( i seem to be building tolerance with time and series that touched me in the past wouldn't touch me now)
The Farseer Saga - Robin Hobb

I agree with others on the most complex series...
A Song of Ice and Fire most assuredly and also Wolfe's Book of the New Sun.

As for emotional, (and I'm sure I'll be snickered at), but I have to say Goodkind's SoT, actually. Its the only series that I honestly shed tears over. Maybe not the best books ever but I guess the story got to me. (Maybe its a chic thing...) =)

Hans, correct me if i'm wrong but i think by complex you meant, large number of characters and sub-plots kind of complex and not a complex writing style kind of complex.
I think some people misunderstood.
Or did i?
