A mate once recommended the Amtrak Wars as a good read several years ago, and I've just recently got it into my head to read them. Unfortunatly I know next to nothing about them. Are they genuinly any good? Are they fantasy or sci-fi? Who wrote them? Any help or hints would be most helpful.

I think the author is Patrick Tilley. Somebody brought this up a while back, I think the the Science Fiction forum, though. Not many responded at the time.

I've been collecting the Amtrak series for a while now (second hand) and I'm still two short.I too would like to hear any opinion on this series.
