I highly recommend Juliet Mariller's. Her Sevenwaters Trilogy which I have read the firest two.
1. Daughter of the Forest
2. Son of Shadows
3. Child of the Prohecy (coming soon, but already out in Australia)

Synopsis for 'Daughter of the Forest':

Lord Colum of Sevenwaters is blessed with seven children: Liam, a natural leader; Diarmid with his passion for adventure; twins Cormack and Conor each with a different calling; rebellious Finbar grown old before his time by his gift of sight; and young compassionate Padriac.

But it is Sorcha, the seventh child and only daughter, too young to have known her mother, who alone is destined to defend her family and protect her land from the Britons and the clan known as Northwoods. For her father has been bewitched by Lady Oonagh and her brothers bound by a spell that only Sorcha can lift.

Exiled from Sevenwaters and cast out into the forest and beyond, Sorcha falls into the hands of the enemy. Now she is torn between the life she has always known and a love that only comes once.

Yep, ireland and UK.

I finally read the first two books in fours days, and I really liked them. Ain't fare us UK have to wait till January (Though the US have to wait even longer) till the third and final book in the series comes out.
Child of the Prophecy is already out in Australia (damn), I may order it from there.

I absolutly loved the first two books in the series. Bran is now my dream man, usurping Kevin from Empire. I can't wait to get my hands on CoP and am sorely tempted to order it from Aussie land, even though the shipping is as much as the book. I *think* with the exhange rate I would only be paying about $22 for book and shipping, but I'm not sure so I am scared to do it since $40 is a bit excessive. I guess I will have to wait till it is out in the UK to get it.

Hmm... i read the editorial reivew of the first book on amazon.com.
It tells that the main character's brothers turned into swans by spell, that's very much like a northern european fairy tale from days old.
Is the series based on fairy tales or such?

Yes, the first book is based on that very tale. I don't remember the tale itself though, so I really can't tell you how closely the book follows the tale.

I don't think the second book is based on any fairy tale, other than just general druid religion. I could be wrong though. It has a "tribe" of renegade warriors with tattoos all over their body. Their leader has half his body tattooed like a raven and the other half is tattoo free. Maybe someone knows if this is from some fairy tale?

These books sound interesting - the first sounds as if it is based on the irish myth 'The Children of Lir'.

Just read 'DotF'- if i read the sequel it will be cause i want to find out what happens to those of Sorcha's brothers whose story ends are left loose at the end of the book - if u c what i mean. It seems the second book is about her daughter tho, so could anyone let me know if i'll find this stuff out if i read the second bk (without giving too much away of course!) Thanx, Sam.

Yup, you will find out what happens to all the brothers. You won't get their "story" but you will get a few sentence summary for each one. Other than a couple of them who play an integral part of this story.
