Would anyone like to share their guesses about what happens after Storm of Swords?

I love talking about ASoIaF, especially about where the story is going after A Storm of Swords. The only problem with discussing it here is that there are some people who haven't read the series (hard to believe, I know). Any such discussion is bound to be full of spoilerish material and may hurt others enjoyment of the series when they get around to reading it.

I think a theory post implicitly states there will be spoilers, but we should indicate in our posts for which book spoilers would be for.

Well perhaps the moderators could add a big Spoiler sign to the topic title.
Anyway I think it's clear that a thread like this will contain spoiler as long as everyone is warned I don't see a problem.

Well here are a view of mine pet theories:

The first one is a classic: Jon isn't Ed's but Lyanna's son. I think the only one who can give us an answer to that will be Howland Reed. I hope we see him next book.

Two: Not an original either: samwell Tarly will go to the citadell to study for a maester. Aemon needs a successo sooner rather than later, and it gives Sam something really usefull to contribute to the watch.

Three: Danerys isn't finished with Kal Drogo's people, before she lands in Westeros she will unify them, or at least a large part. This one comes from a gut feeling.
The whole story of Drogo's tribe falling apart, reeks of the real history story of Temujin aka Dshengis Khan, i just can't beleive Martin stops where he is now.

My previous post must have been written simultanously with Fitz Flaggs, so most of the non theory part is already outdated.

Either Coldhands or the three eyed crow is Ben Stark. He's been mentioned way too much too much in the series to be dead.

I also have a feeling that Melisandre is wrong in thinking that Stannis is the hero reborn - I have a feeling it may be Berric Dondarrion. that's not very likely, but the fact that he is hanging around with Thoros and that he can do the whole flaming sword thing makes me wonder...

And I'm tipping Brandon Stark as becoming the ruler at Winterfell.

I agree about Jon being Lyanna's son.
What about Daario Naharis? He's now with Dany. Is he the one who gave Arya three lives? Do you think Arya will become an assasin? A faceless man, I think they are called. If such a thing can be learned. Tyrion has cut all ties to Westeros, what will he go on to do?

**********Spoiler alarm*******

I take it you are all on the same level as I am. Just finished the third book. Here are my ideas.

Robb will die! No way around it. Martin ignores him , set up to cut in pieces.

Bran will take over the fight for the north. He will achieve a rather big victory. But the dragons will come back.

At the same time the wildlings will move into the realm.

Daeries will move swift and take over most of Westeros. By that time Jon will be the man on the wall. Not hard to think that Daeries and Jon will join their efforts and eventually end up as King and Queen. Especially as Jon will turn out the be a son of Robert and Neds sister. Heir to the thrown

Small sidestories. Sansa will come to love the Imp. and vise versa.

Arya will find her wolf back , and becomes none crowned queen of the free people.

Small sidenote . The most irritating character in these books must be Neds wife. What does Martin want us to feel about her , I wonder? Somehow I have a sense that somewhere along the line she will have to betray one of her own children.

Actually Canaris we seem to be farther than you. You don't seem to have finished SoS, to guess from your staements. Do you read the mass market paperback? They split SoS for that edition. So you have to read part two to catch up. Or if you read the German edition, they made 7 books out of three for that.

I sort of figured that. Damn

Yes I am read the Paperback split. Only the first part sofar I have managed to get my hands on. The english one mind you.
