On the board a couple of months ago I remember someone said that Book 3 would of been better if Fitz and the 3 coastal duchies formed an alliance and fought the Raiders and waited for Verity to come back to claim the thrown. I think I agree with that because there is more action in that line. But there is the problem with the Fool’s visions and about the dragons and all that stuff in the books…

Don’t get me wrong I loved Book 3 but looking back now and thinking about it I would love to see how that would of worked out. And there was the whole relationship with Celerity (don’t get me wrong I loved Molly) that in my eyes could have gone somewhere she was such a lovely girl that I think could of sat next to Fitz on the thrown of Buckkeep.

Oh well its never going to happen but I was wondering what you guys thought about all that…

****A BIG SPOILER DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOKS****

P.S Tell me was the Fool a woman? Yes she/he kissed Fitz at the end but I could have just been that he was showing how much he did love the Catalyst. And if she was I think the Fool should of found her way to Fitz’s little hut and the end of the book http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif The Catalyst and the White Prophet together at the end, there was to much sadness at the end I would of loved to see that.

I don't know if that would work. Since Verity was putting everything of himself in the Dragon, and he couldn't do it on his own, I don't think he would have ever gotten back if Fitz and the group hadn't have gone looking for him. I do agree that it would have made things a lot more interesting. I loved the series, but hated the sad ending. I felt so let down.

I know that Hobb is writing another series that will be Fitz 15 years from then, but I would like to see other stories than that. I would love to read about the details of the first war and how the originally found the dragons. I would also like to read about Fitz's training with the other old blood and his travel to the other realms. I think the world is so rich, there is a lot that could be done there just with that history.

As far as the Fool goes, I am not completely sure, however my vote is for female. A lot of things that the fool did were feminine in nature. I don't think the kiss sealed it for me, but if I remember correctly, she got jealous about attention Fitz was getting from another female.

Mystical... as I can understand it, the Fool can be any gender he/she wishes to be. There is an ongoing debate that says that Amber, from the Livship Traders is actually the Fool from the Farseer Trilogy... I am not entirely convinced about this... but it is possible.

There were too many hints and "coincidences" Amber mentioned that rang true to the events in Farseer, especially concerning Fitz and a lost-love type of thing.

DennizM, would Amber/Fool be androgynous? Or just a race specific to the The Six Duchies/Trader Bay world that can change and assume different genders. Hoping that The Tawny Man trilogy will answer some of these questions. Yes I know you #@&*#@ Brits have the damn book already!

What exactly **is** a Tawny man anyway?

It will interesting to see how/if Hobb crosses over characters and events from the two series.

It's never explicitly said, but YES the Fool is Amber (had this from the horse's mouth so to speak) it is implied very heavily and left to the intelligent reader to figure it out without being beaten over the head with it...

The androgeny issue... I'll ask... I always just assumed she was female, even first time around... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif
