Hi, everyone!

I am looking for a book I read about a long time ago. I wonder if someone out there knows it and can help find it.

I don't remember the title, the author or even where I read about it. I just remember that it is about a guy that simply disappears from this universe and appears on a parallel one (we physicists would say that he quantum tunneled). The parallel universe is much as our own, but with a different history. After some despair, he begins to live his life and even meet a woman he fall in love with. And that is when he tunnels back to his own universe. Of course he gets depressed but then remembers that most of the people exist in both universes, so maybe the woman also exist in this one. So he does everything he can to find her.

This is it. Can anyone help me find the title, author or some bit of information more?

Thank you all in advance!!
