Nicba if there aren't any suitable Danish online bookshops, you could try Amazon.de, the German branch of Amazon, as they are fairly close, they never let me down.

My favourite is Random!

But the Chronicles aren't as good as the new authors - RJ, RF, GM etc!

Hmm,Elan you are absolutely right. Classic authors like JRRT and Zelazny are not so good as modern ones-Ray Feist,Jordan,Hobb.
The reason is simple-the authors today have better style.

I think it would be unfair to say that authors of today are better because they have a better style. They simply have a different style, one which is designed to appeal more to todays readers. I generally find the style of more contempory authors easier to read than the older ones yes, but not necessarily because they have a better style than the older authors. The stuff written today is written for todays readers, were as some readers might find the style of past authors hasn't aged too well and doesn't click with them. It doesn't mean it is necessarily inferior.

I personally find Zelazny's style superior, i find modern authors' style of really long descritions and feeding the reader with a spoon all that he needs to know pretty tedious.
With Zelazny it sometimes hard to keep up with his pace, but it's worth it.

They are nothing much!
One indifferent fantasy!

Hmm,understand you I think, but I think that the genre is graduating to better,eh? Think about the first authors like Howard and the las authors like Jordan and Hobb[haven't read Martin yet].
The authors today are better. No doubt. And not only the style. The stories, the plot...

I think the older authors are better. (1) More imagination and ideas. (2) Each one has his individual style.

I agree with Bardos. A lot of the new stuff (tho by no means all) is very 'samey'.

Sam.
