I definitely agree with all the people who praise Zelazny. His books are my favourites for many years now, and his imagination in those books is really superb.

For those who love Zelazny's delicious first person style in the Amber chronicles, try the short novel This Immortal by him. It's not a Corwin novel, but Zelazny brings his first-person style to its pinnacle in this book. Which sadly is out of print, so good luck if you try to find it. It's worth the effort.

This Immortal is a great book, i agree, i had it purchased and sent to me in a used books store in the US by an internet friend.
Couldn't find it here.

Zelazny is my favourite author as well - i love him so much...
My favourite characters are Corwin, Benedict and Fiona http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif - so masterfully written, so brightly painted http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif
Tho, Merlin's Chronicles reveal more of Chaos and where it stands in the political state, so http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif i think i like Merlin's Chronicles a little bit better than Corwins http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif
But just a little bit, because Corwin is a real hero - he doesn't use magic or anything, he relies on Grayswandir and his own courage, while Merlin casts everything for himself, including clothes and food, which is sort of un-hero-ly stuff http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

I think that Corwin is a nice guy! But Merlin... He's a dullard!

As I said Amber Chronicles are below par!
