Excellent series by Roger Zelanzy is a must to read.

The charcters are all excellent especially Corwin, Benedict and Random.

I envy anyone who has yet to read this book.

Zelanzy and Eddings are the greatest writers of all time.

See, you just couldn't create a posting where Eddings isn't mentioned. SHAME! Why not just write about Amber, a wonderful series BTW, without continuing the Eddings rant?

Zelazny is a superb writer, and his early passing was such a waste. Some days I wonder just what stories he might have come up with given the time. Other days I thank God for the ones we did get.

Zelazny is my favorite author, so i can only join the compliments.
Amber is one of my top 5 fantasy series of all time, and his many standalone books include many of my all time favorite books.
Too bad he died before his time, espeically when the short stories he published indicated that a 3rd Chronicle of Amber is due.

A couple of days ago I saw a book containing all five books of the First Chronicle of Amber in one (I think it was part of a series called Fantasy Masterworks or some such).

Do anyone know if the books of the Second Chronicle of Amber are also collected and published as one? I would really love to read it someday.

Ace in the US actually released The entire Chronicles of Amber in a single volume last year... in tradepaper - you can probably pick it up in your local store.

Thanks for the quick answer Kane. But actually I think I would have to order it online.

I live in Denmark and here it's normaly pretty hard to get your hand on english literature, including sf and fantasy. Some days ago I found that a local bookstore had bought a whole stack of re-published classics (Fantasy Masterworks and Science Fiction Masterwork) which included the above mentioned Amber book. I had to hit myself (well, almost http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif) to be able to limit myself to as many books as I could safely carry.

Nicba - I'm in Stockholm, and their are a couple of local stores that could help you out, either The Uppsala English Bookshop (they are online, and Jan and Christer are both great guys) or Science Fiction Bokhandelen ought to be able to help you out - I'm sure Jan and Christer would give you very good prices for your purchases if you mention me ,) They sell both my novel and short story collection, and I have a reading coming up there for halloween...

Thanks again Kane. If I ever come near I might visit the two shops.

And, just to keep us somewhat on-topic... Yes, The Chronicles of Amber are indeed very good! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif
