Hi there, I'm working on reading the Dragonlance Chronicals. I finished Dragons of Winter Night and soon I'll read Dragons of Spring Dawning. I read in one site that this is a trilogy and another site where they put Dragons of Summer Flame in the same group as the other 3. So is DoSF book 4 or is it a seperate book? It was written about 10 years after book 3.

Dragons of Summer Flame's main characters are the children of the characters of the original trilogy, it happens several decades after the original trilogy,
The right order to read it would be:
1. Dragonlance Chronicles (original Dragonlance trilogy)
2. Dragonlance Legends (Time of the twins, War of the twins, Test of twins)
3. The Second Generation (A kind of a preview to Summer Flame in which the characters and main plotlines are introduced)
4. Dragons of Summer Flame

This takes me back...
I read Chronicles and Legends as they came out in the 80s, but I actually never read The Second Gen or Summer Flame.

Didn't like Summer Flame. Didn't add much and was anti-climactic next to Legends.
