Haven't read it yet, but you might try John Marco's Tyrants and Kings trilogy. It's all about war. There's also David Gemmel's Drenai saga.

William Forstchen.. I've read a good portion of his work, and enjoy it quite a bit..

Most of his books (Or the ones I have read) are all Scifi .. The Lost Regiment series is probably the most popular of his works. It spans 8 books I think, and it's heavy on military, espically large battles (Which I enjoy)..

He also wrote a trilogy called The Gamestar Wars, it was great as well. Though, very hard to find..

Oh yeah...forgot this one...I'm kicking myself 'cause I really enjoyed it: The Deeds of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon.

Lion of Macedon by David Gemmell

It is pretty much a big war and it is really good. Feist's serpentwar saga maybe.

David Drake has written a few fantasy novels that you might dig. Try 'Ranks of Bronze' (arguably SF, but I think it will suit your purposes) and 'The Dragon Lord'.

Also try John Ringo's 'Council Wars' series, beginning with 'There will be dragons'. Again, possibly more accurately described as SF, but frankly it is so informed by fantasy motifs that it doesn't really matter.

Elizabeth Moon's 'The Deed of Paksennarion' series is definitley military fantasy, although it's not really my cup of tea.

Offhand I would also recommend LE Modesitt's work. The original 'Recluce' series is quite good in this respect but his more recent 'Corean Chronicles' series is almost pure military SF.

In the way of Gollancz' Fantasy Masterworks series, I think 'The Drawing of the Dark' and 'The Dragon Waiting' also contain heavy military fantasy elements.

I'll post more as they come to me, there are plenty out there. Honestly, you've probably read the best already: Martin, Gemmell et all. Erikson is also impressing me more and more in this respect. 'Deadhouse Gates' and the whole "Chain of Dogs" story-arc was classic stuff.
