Going by Jordan's previous publishing record it'll probably be November 2002. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif

Great, I can't wait to read about another 2 and a half days in the life of characters I care little about.

Then don't buy the books StoneBurner.

I think I saw somewhere that RJ should be finishing the book in the spring 2002.

*grin* Yeah but if you're 9 or 10 book into a series, you just /have/ to finish it. Like climbing Everest because it's there. It defies rational thought, you hate it at the time, you'd rather be at home watching TV, but since you're half way up the mountain you may as well 'knock the bugger off' (to quote Ed Hilary.) At least it gives you something to boast to your grandchildren about. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

The only news about the next book that I have seen is the rather ridiculous and disingenous statement by Orbit that Jordan would like to get the book done by the spring of 2002. Rather silly and par for the course by this publisher when it comes to Jordan.

Wishing and hoping has not gone far with this man's works in terms of seeing the product anywhere near the original prognostication.

Until Tor announces it on the newsgroup, it likely ain't so.

And until there is word of a title, Jordan is no where near close enough to a final draft to be playing the guessing game as to when the book will be out.

I think the question should be...

When is the LAST book by Robert Jordan?

That, dennizm, is definitely the question on my mind. I spent all the time reading the blasted things, and in all honesty, I have to finish whether I want to or not. But when will it end!

I guess I am that rare reader that cares not when the last book is due or whether something I enjoy so much is completed. As long as he writes in the style that he does and maintains the pace of releases that he has so far, I am quite content.

I just never understand the notion of 'oh I like this so much I can't wait until it is over!' Some stories are strictly progressive; for me WoT is not. By this I mean that the journey is as worth the effort as the destination.
