Well it is that time again. Starting second book even though first is bogged down in the process of getting published. It kinda of sucks waiting on everyone else ok on to this post.

I have three names for a new main character I am introducing and i would like to get your opin. on which one works for you. The character will be called the God King so which one of these names if any goes with that title.

Govan
Unix(yes i got this from the OS)
Unex(yes it is a play on the OS)
Bob(bro suggested this go figure he not right in the head)
Treo(not like the phone)

Well feel free to make a suggestion.
p.s. all the good ones were taken Jehovah, Jesus, GOD, Alia etc.

Probably Govan, although it would help if I knew what the book was about. But as far as God-King names go, I believe Govan's the best out of those four.

Well the book title is War of the Crown:God King it is the second book in the War of the Crown series. basically in a nutshell war comes to the realm of the gods, they spent their tiem in the first book War of the crown:Demon king squabbling amonst themselves while the Demon King Melark continue to crush all comers on the mortal plane. So just like the vain gods they start a war amongst themselves. At which a king of all gods arises. by the way the first book is coming soon.(shameless plug)

With the new information, I still think Govan's the way to go.

Govan, definately. The other names, no offense, aren't too great. Govan, however, is a name that I could legitametly see in many pieces of fantasy. Good luck with this project.

If you name your god-king "Unix", would you then have to name the Demon King "Msdos"?

I'll put in another vote for Govan.

Unless this is meant to be a comedy. In which case, you should definitely go with Bob. I mean, as a palindrome the name unifies beginning and end and with the "o" in the middle, that perfect circle, we find completion in the universe. Very zen.

That's retarded, go screw an emperor.

Govan is the best; it's a nice, traditional fantasy name. You know, like Galen, Gavin, etc. But I wouldn't do Unix or Unex.

Yeah, I suppose Ms'Dos downfall will be an over-reliance on his "impenetrable" wall of fire.

But the etymology of it all? Isn't Gavin Welsh or Scottish? Where's the King from? Surely there'd be a pattern to the naming like there is on Earth, most notably among europeans.

Personally, I get the best character names from the spam folders. If my stories are ever made into movies, some spammers are going to be v. suprirsed.

I prefer the term "mentally challenged". We live in a kinder, gentler age these days. You ought to be a little more sensitive.

I went to school with a Gavin and a Galen. Who knew Oklahoma was such a fantastical place? Maybe Rodgers and Hammerstein.
