Fans of this series A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen, will know that Erikson 3rd book 'Memories of Ice will be coming out soon (3rd December in the UK).

In the small Paperback version of Deadhouse Gates, there is a preview of what Memories of Ice will contain, and someone at www.malazanempire.com/forum2 (http://www.malazanempire.com/forum2) has kindly posted an outline of what the preview contained, and I have read it and those people who were complainig that he was not giving enough History, will be in for a treat.

He will be talking about the four founding races, T'lan Imass, Tiss Andii, Jaghut's and the mysterious K'chain Che'Malle, who we know the least about. You will be taken back to the time of the Jaghut wars I think, and learn much more about what happened and how they some of the races became immortal. Erikson also said once before in one of his interviews that he will be telling us how the Bridgeburners began also. Arrrhggg, I can't wait.

I will warn you guys now, that if you have not at least read 'Gardens of the Moon', then it may contain spoilers....
Anyway, here's the link to the outline of the preview: http://www.malazan.hpnews.co.uk/forum2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=&TOPIC_ID=250

Yes - thank you, Hans for the details!
The cover for the UK copy also looks grand.

Great Hans.

What do you mean Hobbit, that you are getting MoI before it comes out?

Could be azaz, could be.. though you never know. it has happened before (but as soon as I say 'yes, it'll arrive early' I know that it won't.

So to answer your question in a positive way - erm, maybe.

YES YES YES the Crippled God is in MoI.

I just found this synopsis on a site:

The ravaged continent of Genabackis has given birth to a terrifying new empire: the Pannion Domin. A boiling tide of corrupted blood, it seethes across the land, devouring all who fail to heed the Word of its elusive prophet. In its path stands an uneasy alliance: Dujek Onearm’s Host and the Bridgeburners – both outlawed by the Empress – with the grim forces of warlord Caladan Brood and Anomander Rake, Son of Darkness. But more ancient clans too are gathering – as if in answer to some primal summons, the T’Ian Imass have risen. For something altogether darker and even more malign threatens the very substance of this world: rumours abound of the Crippled God, intent on a terrible revenge.
...........

The Crippled God is gonna be in it (we've been discussing this at malazanempire.com for ages, thinking what this god was etc, and now we will find out), how much more exciting could it get.

I'm so excited.

Yeah man.

As Caldazar said above why can't they be out in Hardback, and why did they have to delay the release of Memories of Ice from September to December in the first place.

I can see your point azaz,(I'm quite excited too!) BUT I'd rather the book took longer (and was right!) than rushed through and was unsatisfactory or mediocre.

To be honest, I partly blame publishers setting rather unrealistic demands for deadlines - far too many books these days are given release dates before the book is written! (Lots of examples, but JV Jones is the next that comes to mind).

Hobbit, go to http://www.malazanempire.com/Forum2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=&TOPIC_ID=250 and you can read a overview of the preview.

Quki, who is a member there has put it up, and I can't beleive the surprises the second part of the overview he's done. There is much more to K'rul the Elder gaod, and to what is happening to Tattersail. And I thought that GRRM was the only one who could totally surprise me this much.
