I've read Feist and Tolkien, next year some time i'll be up-to-date with Jordan. The question is who should I read next?

Top of my list is GRR Martin, Eddings, Tad Williams, Zelazny, Donaldson, Hobb and Sara Douglas. What little I know about them, their styles etc is from these forums.

I'd go with Tad Williams Memory, Sorrow and Thorn. In my opinion it is a natural progression in style of story from where you are now. After that I'd give Hobb, Martin or Donaldson a read.

Will you stop the shouting, all caps is the equivalent of shouting, and I am getting a headache. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

If caps = shouting, what does BOLD caps equal?

Also, MY caps aren't shouting, i do it when i want italics, cos i don't know how to do them.

Why don't you read Robert Jordan, my friend? Or you have already read him! He's a great author!

I would start with LOTR Mordread. Finish at least book one before you see the film, then qualitywise GRRM should be next (but since you seem to have read A game of thrones you should know that). Then Hobb, if I were you I would forget about Brooks http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif (but that's just me). Feist is a nice enough light read, but nothing special in my opinion.
