I've been trying to find some books that I thought were called the "Tor series" (or known (loosely) by that name), or were about some type of an "alternate world" called "Tor", or maybe that was the name of the main character. (I'm not sure if they were SF, Fantasy, or a mix)

The only thing I can really remember about them was that there was some form of a writer-created "language" in the stories, kind of like Tolkien's Elvish, or something like that. And that it was some form of an alternate world or maybe an alternate Earth. I don't know who wrote them.

I've searched and searched and I can't seem to find any information on them. Maybe I have the name wrong, but I swear that was the name that the person who told me about them used. (this was about 30 years ago)

Anyone know anything about that?

You're not thinking of Gor by John Norman?
