So, years ago I read a short story that went something like this:

In a post-apocalyptic world humans are extinct and only one or two mobile supercomputers are left behind. Eventually one of the supercomputers finds some human remains and is able to clone a body. The computer is then able to transfer itself into the brain of the cloned human where it experiences emotions for the first time. I believe it convinces another computer to transfer itself into a female body and they basically become adam and eve in a matter of speaking.

Any help in tracking down this story would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much :)

Hi Leeterl - I am pretty confident that the story you are after is Roger Zelazny's 'For a Breath I Tarry'.
