Hi! I'm a newbie to this board. What books do you think I should read next?? After I finish Dracula I'll be back at the stage where I have no clue what to read next.
So far I've read the books in the Xanth series, the Incarnations of Immortality (except the last two), the Mode series (the first three), the Adept series, the Dragon's Gold series, the Deathgate Cycle, the Shanara series (except the new one), some books from the Magic Kingdom of Landover, Dennis L. McKiernan's Mithgar books and his Caverns of Socrates book, Enders Game, Shadow of Hegemon, Speaker for the Dead, Shards of Honor, the Harry Potter books, the Wheel of Time books, the Halfblood Chronicles, and most of David Eddings books (Belgariad, Mallorean, Elenium, Tamuli)
So what else should I read? (i.e. what's good?)

You could try Martins A song of Fire and Ice series. ::ack i gotta go scrub my fingers after typing that::
You should really finish the last two books in the Incarnations of Immortality series.
After that you could try Kate Elliots "Crown of Stars" series or David Gemmells stuff. Oh and Robin Hobbs Farseer books are worth a read as are J V Jones books.
Martin sooks!!

Mark Anthony's The Last Rune series is pretty good. Juliet McKenna, Guy Gavriel Kay and Jacqueline Carey are excellent.
Welcome, and enjoy! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Read the "Mordant" series by Stephen Donaldson, and if you like that, go onto his more gritty series, "Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever".

Failing that you could check out Memory Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams.

I usually recommend that people stay with the same genre of fantasy novels that they are currently reading. Since you are reading Dracula, one of the greatest fantasy novels ever written, I would go with more vampire type novels. To this end I would suggest the Ravenloft saga of novels. They may be a bit hard to find but, I am told, are worth the effort to find them. These novels surround vampires much like the ones you are reading about now.

That's an interesting point, jb - I tend to do the opposite - Sf/Fantasy/Horror (not in strict rotation, but you get the idea..) and mix in some well recommended books (that I will take over) followed by some quick lighter 'trash' for comparison.
I find too much of a good thing in large dollops dulls the experience... Fantasy especially with its 700+ pages-a-go.
