Any have any idea what has happened to J.V. Jones? She has a web site that she used to update once a month, but it has not been updated since last May. Cavern of Grey Ice was to have been released by now, but that seems to have been delayed to who knows when. Is she OK?

Apparently she's still finishing Cavern of Grey Ice. I heard that it is coming out in March of this year, but I'm not too sure.

I think JVJ's mother had a stroke last year, and she had to come over to the UK. I think this may have knocked her schedule back a bit.

According to Amazon, Fortress of Grey Ice is due out in April this year (in the UK anyway). I'm looking forward to it - DAMN MACE BLACKHAIL! DAMN HIS BLACK EVIL HEART!

Ahem.

I think it's April for Grey Ice here in the U.S. as well.

Black Ice was a "really good book" I haven't read any of her other books, how do they stack up?

The Book of Words is good, the writing style does get a dodgy at times, but the plot-line is so good I can forgive this. I particularly like the 'commercial breaks' she takes with 2 characters called Bodger and Griff, very funny.

The Barbed Coil is even better, a well developed main character and a good supporting cast. It is a cross-over book, and like Donaldson she handles the cross-over really well. A slight critisism is that the plot involves a ring, which is a bit cliche. This is a 'stand-alone' work.

You may already know this, but for members who don't, the Book Of Words trilogy comprises of:

The Baker's Boy
A Man Betrayed
Master and Fool

what do you think is going to happen in fortress of grey ice? i've spend ages thinking about it and so far i haven't a clue what's going to happen next. here's what i would like to happen: drey kills mace blackhail and effie turns out to be someone really powerful who can stop ash. i know it's all really typical and is definetely not going to be, but it's what i want anyway.

I have a feeling Mace is going to be around for a while.

Maya, why do you want to "stop Ash"? Stop her from doing what? I thought that...
SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
She reached the Cavern of Black Ice and discharged her Reach power. I thought that once she discharged this power she was safe and was in control of her abilities from that point forward - as in no uncontrolled "reaching" that could free the undead ones. Did I misunderstand something? I think now she has control of her power and can use it to transverse the boundaries without fear of releasing evil.
BTW, I'd also like to see Mace drawn and quartered, but I agree with FitzFlagg. Mace will probably be a major player in the clans.

Hello,

I thought I would bring this topic back to life and see if anyone has heard anything about J.V. Jones?

Thanks,

Chuck
