Certain stores don't honour the release dates. It is due out on the 15th but copies have been on ebay for a while, horror fans paying 75 bucks for it... I wonder what the chances of it living up to expectations are? I mean not since Hanibal has a book been so anticipated... and we know what happened there http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif

Just a quick one here - if you were thinking of buying a copy for prosperity (or to sell for a fortune in later times)- don't! Have heard that the initial print run (and I'm assuming US here) is 2 MILLION copies.
First editions should therefore be easy to get hold of - so too the ARC's (Advanced Reading Copies).

Looking forward to reading this sequel too, though I have to find the time to re-read The Talisman first! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I pre-ordered it from my book club, and I was very surprised when it came on Tuesday... but I am certainly not complaining http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif
200 pages in... so far so good.

Over half way... it takes a while for things to begin moving... but boy do they move.
For fans of 'The Talisman', you are not gonna be disapointed... the narative just draws you in... not surprising for King, but you can tell that Straub is back, he gets to the 'scary bits' in a very different way... we know beforehand what is gonna happen, but getting to that point is fantastic.

Pleased you're enjoying it Dennizm - I still have to read the Talisman!
It was interesting to hear that it takes a while to get started. Would the story seem to change pace 213 pages in?
I ask because Harper Collins evidently sent reviewers only the first 213 pages of the book - it seems to have hooked them!

I just picked up yesterday, and I wouldn't exactly say it is bad the way it draws you in. I'm about 150 pages into it and the anticipation that Straub/King put into the build up is great.
