Trying to find a fantasy book I read some time ago.

Hello all,

I read a fantasy book about 5 years ago that I thought was interesting, here's what I can remember about it--

It has a medieval/feudal setting.

The book has some type of weird magic that I think has something to do with a older race that had occupied the planet before.

You could become magical by walking the "fenways"? Not sure if thats the right name or not, it was a series of shrines.

The characters I remember are-

A young knight with a sword named crow, hes pretty much the main character. He has, or almost has, an affair with the princess, I think. She gets killed.

A young monk that ends up with acute senses after doing the shrine walk thing.

A woodsman sheriff type who I think had had some type of relationship (married?) with a woman that was descended from a cat race.

A king that likes to sleep around that gets killed. He has a disabled son who becomes the king.

Two female characters, I think another princess and her handmaiden. The princess was very arrogant at the beginning of the book.

A rapier wielding musketeer type that like to engage in duels. He was from a different country than the characters listed above. He ends up meeting up with two girls at some point in the novel.

I remember various other details, but I think that should be enough for someone familiar with the book.

Thanks very much.
