I just found out Book 10 of the Wheel of Time series is supposed to be coming out in June of 2002, according to Amazon.com . Here is the news:

http://www.whitetower.org.uk/main.html

Does anyone have any news on the title of the book?

Be careful with Amazon release dates - they are estimates at best, given by overzealous publishing companies when the book hasn't been finished - though sometimes OK are often changed nearer the time. (latest example: Mountains of Ice, Steven Erikson). Given Jordan's habit of delay as well, this might suggest more realistically that Jordan's book is out by Xmas 2002.

Yes, I know that Iliana!
I also read that the name of the book will be: "The End of the Illusions"!
Do you know how many pages it's going to be?

I'm with Hobbit. I won't believe it till I see it. I was looking over Tor's 2002 publishing list the other day and I don't think book 10 was listed there. I wasn't actually looking for WoT though.

amazon.uk has it listed as 7 November, 2002.

That is the most likely time it will come out as all the previous books have all been published around that time of the year. If it was coming out in June we would most likey already know the title(which we don't elan). As for not being on the Tor publishing list for 2002 it most likely won't be until Jordan actually gives them his final draft.

Amazon.co.uk says the book will be 640 pages. This is sort of interesting, though, because it says both the HB and the PB will be 640 pages. But the other thing to note is that the PB is priced at £11.99 which seems to be almost double the price of a normal mass-market PB-- so if they really are publishing both at once, it may be a heavier-duty paperback than what we normally get.

But that's the strange thing, Book 10 does not appear on Tor's publishing schedule which means that it may indeed be an estimate.

Where did you get the information about the title, Elan?

The page count is just a filler. Memories Of Ice was listed at 640 pages I tink and its was actually 900+. Orbit releases Trade paperbacks and Hardcovers at the same time.

Please, DO NOT tease me with unsubstantiated Jordan book release dates or titles. Life is hard enough waiting for the next book to be available. It's been a whole year since Winter's Heart!! LOL!

The tenth book could well come out in July or November. But in either case it is nothing more than remarkable coincidence.

There is no title. So there is no release date that can be verified as Jordan releases the title about halfway through writing the book. I have heard of no offical title being released.

Amazon (US or UK) both are preorder repsotitories. they want you to order from them long before you would walk into a bookstore the day of release. They whet your appetite and reap the reward.

Orbit can get things right but they are not Jordan's direct publisher and only the people at Tor can confrim anything to a degree of certainty.

For the diehards I would suggest keeping an eye on Tor's website and the newsgroup; Jordan's publisher actually post info and press release type stuff there even before the Tor site does (long before in some cases).

To be honest Iliana I can't remember!
I just remember that in this site that you have posted was a link where something was written about it!
