Hi I'm a new member and die hard SF fan esp. Neal Asher, Alistair Reynolds and most of all the granddaddy of them all Philip K. Dick.
Everyone seems to be talking about the serious stuff - if you like satirical comedy and SF mixed together watch Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. It takes the piss out of all the tacky 80's British Sci-Fi and pompous writers too.
Don't know if it's available in the US but for all the uninitiated it is multo funny although perhaps more for the Brits than Americans.
