Ah, holiday readings.... Even though my book backlog is killing me as I'm sorely lacking reading time due to work (unless I skip that thing called sleep), the sound of those words makes me purrr like a cat.... err, sorry about that.
Anyway, still haven't finished "Diplomacy of Wolves" by Holly Lisle because I'm reading "Band of Brothers" by Stephen Ambrose (I know, it's non-fiction but just watched parts of it on HBO and was really good). Waiting is "Gorgemghast" by Mervyn Peake, another by Iain M. Banks, and I just bought more books ("Wayfarer Redemption" by Sara Douglass and "Grand Conspiracy" by Janny Wurts) for Christmas. *sigh*
So many books, so little time.... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif

Just finished LeGuin's Other Wind, which was very good, even thou she deconstructed her original vision of Earthsea a bit too much, but it's her world, she can do that. I liked it nevertheless, she is such a class act.
Now I'm reading Gregory Frost's Lyrec. He'll be visiting our monthly meeting in January and I thought it'd be nice to have read s-thing by him before that... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif It reads well and I quite enjoy it. We'll see how it ends.

I'm in a pretty bad situation this holiday. Just as I finished all my library books, the library closed, leaving me with nothing to read. None, of my friends or relatives gave me a book as a present either, so this holiday I had to find some e-books and read them. So far I just read some short stories by Orson Scott Card.

After all the praise that has been lavished on Perdido Street Station I figured I had best pick it up. I'm about 3/4 of the way through it. Very good, a nice change from all the epic fantasy I've been reading.
Prior to that I read The Wooden Sea by Jonathan Carroll, which I highly recommend. I also read the first two in the Wayfarer series by Sara Douglass.. now I just need to figure out how to get my hands on the other books in that series.
On my nightstand waiting for me are:
The Once and Future King by TH White
Shadow and Claw by Gene Wolfe
The Marriage of Sticks by Jonathan Carroll
Black House by King and Straub
I think my eyes are bigger than the time I have available to read all these.. but I'm going to try!

I'm past halway into Magician by Feist and am loving it. This is a wonderful book. Snow's coming down (I live in Ohio) and there's no better weather for reading.
Happy Holidays

Whoo hoo!
Christmas RULES, man.
As of yesterday I am the proud owner of seven (that's seven!) new books! Hmmm, due to classic holiday lazieness, have already finished one of them.
